SHARING THE LOVE OF CHRIST EVERY DAY
You’re engaged – Congratulations!
Our prayer at Love of Christ (LOC) is that your desire to be married would lead you and your fiancé to a lifestyle that points to Jesus in all you do. We want to help you with that endeavor, and in the process, strengthen you for your marriage. To do this, we ask that you follow these steps in preparation for being married at LOC:
1. Schedule an appointment to meet with a Pastor (upon pastoral approval and payment of the deposit, this secures the date).
2. Allow at least six months for preparation.
3. Attend the pre-marriage pastoral counseling at least one month before your wedding.
The Christian Wedding As Worship
A wedding is a sacred union between a man and a woman in which the two become one in the Lord. We come together to offer special thanks and praise to the Lord and ask for the Lord’s blessing upon your lifetime together as husband and wife.
Wedding Coordinator
The wedding coordinator is here to help make your wedding go as smoothly as possible. This person will meet with you to go over the wedding packet, discuss details of your service, get acquainted with you as a couple and understand your needs. The coordinator will run your rehearsal and will be present the day of your wedding to help ensure the service goes according to your plan. Please contact the coordinator and set up a meeting at least 4 weeks before your wedding. She is also available during your planning process to answer questions.
Date Selection
You select your date when you meet with a Pastor. Please contact the church office at 320-253-7453 to verify the date is available and to schedule an appointment with a Pastor. We require a minimum of 6 months to ensure we have time to accomplish premarital counseling and planning.
Musicians and Tech Person
It is your choice to have live or pre-recorded music as part of your ceremony. It is your responsibility to contact and make arrangements with the musicians, if you desire live music.
If you choose to have pre-recorded music, we ask you have it all on one CD in the order it is to be played.
We also have the screens available to use as part of your service. These can be used for a slide show, but will be black or will display only one graphic during the service.
Each wedding has a tech person to help with audio/ visual needs.
Marriage License
Minnesota law requires that both parties be present to apply for your marriage license. Please ensure you apply at least two weeks before your wedding. Licenses are obtained at the Courthouse. Once you have received your license, it is good for 6 months. Be sure to check on current rules and regulations, as they are subject to change.
Please contact the Pastor you are coordinating with to receive verification of pre-marital counseling for a discount on your license.
